Ventilation Solution for Homeowners

A quick introduction to ventilation solutions for your home

Indoor air quality and condensation dampness is becoming a hot topic amongst UK residents. Knowing which ventilation solution you need can be daunting, which is why we have created this article to help you understand the benefits of installing a ventilation unit in your home.

The size of your house is important as this will determine what solution you need. If your house is 200sqm or less, then extract ventilation would be a viable option. Extract fans are designed to be fitted into wet rooms throughout the home targeting excess moisture and extracting it from the air. However, these fans only concentrate on a single room per fan.

Larger houses would benefit from multiple sources of ventilation, or a centralised unit. If you already have extract fans installed in your kitchen and/or bathroom, then this is a great start. We would still recommend investing in whole house ventilation solutions for bigger jobs, especially if you experience condensation and mould during the colder months of the year. Nuaire’s Drimaster-Eco range for homes with loft space and our Flatmaster range for homes with no loft space are our most popular choices for homeowners.

Why do I need ventilation?

Excess humidity created from everyday activities in the home can travel throughout the property. When it comes into contact with cold surfaces, it condensences and leaves damp patches or streaking windows and mirrors. If left untreated, condensation will develop into black mould. Ventilation units bring a continuous supply of fresh, filtered air into the home and removes the excess moisture from the air, preventing condensation, damp, and mould from reoccurring.

Our award-winning Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) works through positive pressurisation of the property, creating an environment in which condensation and black mould cannot exist and helping to reduce allergens and Radon gas levels.

We have an evolving range of PIV units to suite you property layout from bungalows to 3 storey properties. View our Drimaster-Eco range for homes with loft space and Flatmaster range for homes with no loft space.
